Resolved Question: Costs while in Egypt?

2 January 2009, 5:24 am

I wanted to know if I have estimated correctly the costs for a 2 week trip to Egypt. My estimate per person is $600 (Canadian) so about $500 American for 2 weeks NOT including accommodation (I've contacted people about renting their apartments so I'm okay with figuring out costs for that). Here's our itinerary: Cairo (5 days)  Pyramids at Giza  The Sphinx  Cairo Museum  Amr Ibn Al-As Mosque  Al Azhar Park  Nile River boat ride  Khan El Khalili market  Birqash Camel Market  Hanging Church  Step Pyramid at Saqqara  The Synagogue of Ben Ezra  University campus tour (AUC?)  Pyramid Sound and Light Show Alexandria (1 or 2 day trips from Cairo)  Alexandria Library  The Roman Amphitheatre  Latest Egyptian Movie at a theater  Mall Sinai (night trip from Cairo)  Mount Sinai (Gabal Moosa) Hurghada (4-5 days)  Snorkelling/Diving  Boat with glass bottom  Submarine  Desert Safari + Souvenirs = ? + Food = $150 + Transportation = $150 TOTAL = CAD $600 / person / 2 weeks ** We may also want to do a day trip to El Fayoum from Cairo. ** Also, we'll be with a local who is a friend of mine and he says he will try to save us as much money as possible (as we're poor little students lol) - can he really do that?? Thanks in advance!... Read More »
